David Rozas joined his brother, Greg, at the Rozas and Rozas law firm in the fall of 2004. Some would say, he was destined for the courtroom. He is the son of a lawyer and also one of three brothers who are all lawyers. He grew up with a father who is a retired District Attorney from Evangeline Parish, Louisiana. He was born and raised in Mamou, Louisiana, graduating Mamou High School in 1992. He was then accepted into the U.S. Army Military Intelligence where he became fluent in the Spanish language. He went on to graduate college from the University of Southwestern Louisiana, also later obtaining an MA graduate degree from University of Louisiana at Lafayette in History. Attending and graduating LSU law school, David passed the Louisiana Bar Exam in July of 2004. He began his career in law serving as a public defender in Lafayette City Court, then later on became a felony public defender in the 19th Judicial District Court in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where his first three felony jury trials returned a NOT GUILTY verdict. In three short years with the Public Defender's office, David tried well over 130 bench and jury trials ranging from DWI, Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and 2nd degree murder and his vast experience defending crimes has provided invaluable insight with strategies for clients at the Rozas and Rozas law firm. David still represents Spanish speaking clients in the East Baton Rouge area that are appointed a public defender because of their lack of funds and is also a member of the Criminal Justice Panel with the Middle District Court of Louisiana, often taking appointed cases, representing clients charged with Federal crimes.
