Remembering Stephen Stanford
Stephen Stanford was a valued member of Rozas’ immigration team whose legal career was defined by compassion, advocacy, and a deep commitment to helping people navigate some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
Stephen served as a Supervising Immigration Attorney, focusing on asylum, humanitarian relief, and removal defense. Throughout his career, he believed that every person deserved to be heard and that every story should be presented with dignity.
A Career Dedicated to Immigration Advocacy
Originally from Welsh, Louisiana, Stephen earned both his undergraduate and law degrees from Louisiana State University. Before dedicating his career to immigration law, Stephen worked in public defense, representing clients in the 19th and 16th Judicial Districts of Louisiana. He also interned with the Louisiana First Circuit Court of Appeal, gaining valuable insight into the judicial process.

Stephen’s immigration practice centered on helping people facing profound legal and personal challenges. He represented clients in matters involving asylum, humanitarian relief, deportation defense, and removal proceedings.
His motivation came from recognizing the trust clients placed in their attorneys. At Rozas, he viewed it as a privilege to help clients tell stories of hardship, hope, and resilience while advocating for their futures.

Stephen distinguished himself as an advocate during law school, winning the Tullis Moot Court competition and receiving multiple brief-writing awards, including Best Brief and recognition in national moot court competitions.
He carried that dedication to advocacy throughout his legal career, combining strong oral and written communication with a genuine commitment to the people he represented.
Education and Bar Admission
Stephen earned his B.A. in English from Louisiana State University and his Juris Doctor from Louisiana State University’s Paul M. Hebert Law Center in 2016. He was a member of the LSU Tiger Band throughout his undergraduate career and was a valued member of the Baton Rouge music community.
He was admitted to practice law in Louisiana in 2016.
