Do police need a warrant to arrest someone in Louisiana?

Not always. Officers can arrest without a warrant when an offense happens in their presence, when they have reasonable cause to believe a felony occurred, or when a valid warrant already exists elsewhere. Each of those grounds has specific legal requirements attached to it.
